Hawaii’s Pediatric Nursing Agency

Cradles n’ Crayons offers professional nursing services by registered nurses and licensed practical nurses on the island of Oahu. We provide nursing services to medically fragile children and also provide private duty nursing.

CNC collaborates with Oahu medical facilities such as Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, Kaiser Medical Center, Tripler Medical Center, Kulana Malama, and Queen’s Medical Center’s interdisciplinary team to facilitate transition from the medical institution into the community and home setting. CNC’s clientele are referred by the preceding facilities and state case managers when Medicaid eligibility is met.

Collaborating With Providers

CNC demonstrates the ability to network with other nursing agencies by coordinating monthly nursing schedules and communicating changes in client status/physician orders to encourage continuity of care from one nursing agency to the next. Client plan of care is coordinated by community case managers, social workers, and the client’s family. Such Medicaid contracted health alliances that CNC currently collaborate with include United Healthcare(Evercare), Wellcare(Ohanacare), HMSA, Alohacare, Kaiser, and UHA.

Clients & Treatment

CNC’s client age capacity may range from one year to 20 years. Medical needs vary from client to client. CNC nurses possess skills to provide care for ventilator and non-ventilator dependent medically fragile children, terminally ill children, and those in need of short term care. Treatments provided are, but not limited to supplemental/continual oxygen use central line maintenance for treatments, gastrostomy/naso-gastric/jejunal feeding via drip/bolus feeding pump method, tracheostomy maintenance with suctioning as necessary, pulse oximetry saturation monitoring, providing nebulizer treatments, administration of medications via prescribed route, blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration according to physicians orders, intravenous therapy as ordered, and instillation of ear/eye/nose drops.
